Toy Storage
Toys, toys EVERYWHERE! Now that the holidays are finished, I stand in my living room wondering where to step just to get from one side of the room to the other. I need toy storage! There are so many options today.
The Toy Box:
The toy box is a classic, because it hides the toys from general view, and leaves a room nice and neat! One of the drawbacks of the toy box is that it also hides the toys from the kids. Some things go in and never come out. Not a bad thing for the light activated, battery driven Big Bird toy we had a few years ago that my wife and I swore was possessed. HeirloomWoodenToys.com carries many different toy boxes. Here is my personal favorite:

Toy Shelving:
Toy boxes certainly are not the end all and be all of toy storage. Recently shelving has become more and more popular for toy storage because the children can see their toys, making it more likely that the toys will be played with. The drawback to this kind of storage is that the rest of the world can see the toys too, so it can be a bit messy for the more public areas of your house. We carry so many different styles of shelving. Shelves for book storage, shelves to fit into any home decor, and more serious school style shelving. My personal favorite type of shelving we use all over our house for more than just the kids toys. My DVD collection is stored on one set of these:

Miscellaneous Toy Storage
This group of storage defies categorization. I'm always wondering where to put them on the website. These storage units meet many and varying needs, but don't necessarily "fit the mold" of what we think of as toy storage.
A great example of this would be the Playhouse Hideaway Bookshelves. These bookshelves are incorporated into a great tent that gives kids their very own little space.
The Schoolhouse Storage Unit combines storage bins into a standing desk/chalkboard unit.
The Natural See Thru Bins allow you to store toys at floor level, but also allow you to see into the open sides. A white version is also available.
The Moon and Stars See, Store and Take Along has been an incredibly popular storage solution. It is simply a cart that hold nine see through bins. This is great for storing all of those little things in a neat and tidy manner that is easy to use and accessible.
Another idea that I just love are the Stack A Buddies. These three cute storage bins stack one on top of another to improve storage space while adding to a room's decor.
A great idea to maximize your easy to access storage space are the caster mounted All 4 Sport Theme Storage Cube and the Daisies Theme Storage Cube.
One last item I would like to mention that we find useful in our own house is the Trundle Storage Bench. We store many of our 15 month old's toys in one of these. She loves to open and close it, put things in and take them out. Or just sit on it and watch her brothers.
All in all, there are a ton of options for toy storage. So, whatever your toy storage needs are, please have a look at our selection.
As always, please remember, "We're here to help!".
